How will the fee changes affect me if I'm already a member?

For any existing member as of May 27, 2014, the first annual payment will be May 27th, 

2015 and on the same date every year after that. Don't worry, you don't have to 

remember this date, we'll send you an email to remind you ahead of time! 

What about members that sign up after May 27th, 2014?

For anyone who becomes a CEP Vancouver member after May 27th, 2014, their annual 

renewal date will be the same date as their membership activation date into the future. 

For example, if John Smith signs up on July 24th, 2014, he will be asked to renew his 

membership on July 24th, 2015 and every year following that he chooses to remain a 

CEP member.

Why is CEP changing to annual fees?

CEP is a 100% non-profit volunteer-run organization. Every hour of time spent 

coordinating the activities, events, administration, and list serves for the more than 900 

Vancouver members is done voluntarily by our volunteer coordinators and board 

members. We're not trying to toot our own horn here, but it's important for members to 

know that every penny of your membership fee goes right back into the organization. 

Annual fees will give CEP Vancouver more resources to operate our website and 

membership software (which also allows us to maintain our list serves more effectively), 

provide mentorship and scholarship opportunities, continue to provide members with up 

to 50% discounts to all CEP Vancouver events, and build more membership value into 

the future.

We’re proud that our membership fee is still very economical compared to other 

professional associations. We want to make sure that we can continue to serve our 

membership effectively into the future.
